Friday Wrap-up – 1/29/10

For a myriad of reasons I won’t go into, this has been a crazy week.  I’m looking forward to getting back to a more regular posting schedule next week, with lots of very cool design to share with you.

Meanwhile, here are some of the items that caught my eye across the internet on those rare moments when I had a chance to look.

Inhabitat has a story about how Fashion4Home is taking votes on which pieces they should put into production from their new line of bamboo furniture.

Check out the new kid in town!  Penny Bonda at the Design Green blog tells us about BioSurf, a bio based alternative to p-lam.

Also seen on the Design Green blog is this adorable recycled cardboard desk and seat.

On a more serious note, Treehugger posted about a new research study on the effects of PBDEs on women trying to conceive.  PBDEs are one of the most common fire retardants added to mattresses and upholstered furniture.  The study is an important reminder of why it’s so important for interior designers to learn about these issues, and educate their clients and the public.

See you next week.
