Two years ago installed a Vetrazzo countertop in our $200+K kitchen remodel. After the first 6 months the little glass pieces started chipping out of the filler especially around the edges. Now the top was stained in two places and they say on their site that this just adds to the beauty.... wrong.. it just looks stained. The surface, in many places is rough where the filler is breaking down. We went back to the manufacture and got nothing but nasty emails telling us it was our fault for not maintaining the surface properly. This is NOT the case, everything in our kitchen is BEAUTIFUL... the Vetrazzo countertop will have to be replaced. It's definitely NOT sustainable!

The sustainable option that I went for was Reclaimed Wood. I didn't want the typical eco-look of bamboo, so I went for Reclaimed Beech. The site I went through was actually craft-art.com. The beech was my favorite once I got the samples from their little store, but the Reclaimed Chestnut was a close second.
