But the best part?…You can paint it any color you want!  Lipstick red, lemon yellow, lime green – it’s all up to you.  Polka dots if you’re feeling really ambitious.  You can even cut into the shade if you want.

Every lamp has its own, unique serial number, and comes ready to paint.

Made by hand in Poland, these lamps can be shipped worldwide.  They would make a fantastic project for kids, students, DIY enthusiasts, or just folks wanting to find a lamp in a VERY particular color.  How the Make Your Lamp turns out is completely up to you!

This whimsical LED lamp, designed by Pablo Pardo, seems the perfect fit for a child’s room.

Flexible yet sturdy, the aluminum Link Table Lamp has splayed “feet” for added stability, which only adds to it’s slightly comical look.  The 15 LED bulbs remain cool to the touch, making it the perfect lamp for little ones who may still be learning the age old “hot – don’t touch” mantra.  And with an expected bulb lifespan of up to 100,000 hours, the lamp they learn to read “Green Eggs and Ham” under may well light their way through their first college chemistry course.

Created from Moso Bamboo, one of the most eco-friendly species of this fast growing plant, the award winning Wambamboo line of furniture by Kent Gration deftly combines a modernist style with an ancient building material.

Very conscientious about the environmental impact of the furniture line, Wambamboo follows the supply chain from it’s beginnings in the Zheijang province of China, where the bamboo boards, veneers and poles are sourced and manufactured, to it’s end point in Brisbane Australia where the furniture is crafted.

By using no harmful chemicals in the production of the pieces, and by using a naturally biodegradable material, Wambamboo seeks to ensure that these pieces will cause no environmental harm once they reach the end of their useful life.  Considering that, according to one study, furniture constituted over 42% of illegally dumped rubbish in Australia, it is easy to see why this is a critical aspect of Kent Gration’s design thought process.

Of course, it’s not all seriousness and responsibility.  Playing with the inherent layer variation found in bamboo boards, Wambamboo can use the DNA sequence of the long term user to customize the cutouts that decorate the seat of the Rolf stool.

Wambamboo also includes some beautiful lighting in it’s portfolio.  Inspired by the skyward reach of bamboo, Kent Gration designed these handsome Zhu Lamps to evoke the feeling of standing in a bamboo forest.

Ok, remember how I said I was in a silly mood this morning?  Well, wouldn’t you be if you were writing a post on a furniture line called Wambamboo?  So, in honor of silliness, and tight pants, I give you this…

A member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Lights Up! also shows concern for the environment by packing Flights colorful wire bases in recycled cardboard.

With their great atomic age style, and a whole host of base colors and shade patterns, these lamps are sure to take off!

One of  my favorite sources for lamps, mirrors, and vases, Babette Holland Design, has a new series of their lovely, spun aluminum table lamps out.  As though echoing my thoughts, they have named it “I Need a Vacation”!

Made from 75-80% recycled content aluminum, Babette Holland takes care through every part of the process to be as environmentally sensitive as possible, including using a topcoat that allows the aluminum to be recycled afterward.  Although, I can’t imagine that it’s likely these stylish lamps will ever wind up in the recycling heap!

Babette Holland also manufacturers all of their designs in Brooklyn, NY, in order to have the greatest control over product quality and safety.  This also means they do not need to worry about under who or what conditions their products are being made.
