Of course, you could also knit some lace... ;-) The bird bowls, lampshade, and concrete curtain are my favorites.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, and I don't know if anyone in the U.S. has. They are nice folks to work with though, so You might be able to get them to send you a tester pot to try it out. Let us know if you do wind up trying it and let us know what you think!

Thanks, Rachel! I adore old blueprints- I have the original set from the 20' of the home where I grew up in Laguna. They're absolutely charming- an interior elevation even shows a sketch of a mural that was handpainted on one of the walls. And I've been planning on doing the same thing you mentioned- scanning and framing them. They just don't make (or draw, in this case) them like they used to... ;)

I remember one time in 2001 when I was interning for landscape architect I had to make blueprints of 25 or so sheets using an old school blue printing machine in an unventilated room. Wow takes me back.

John,

It is worth a mention that Horizon Shutters constructs and sells high quality custom hardwood shutters. The shutters are manufactured in the United States (Los Angeles to be specific) and the wood used is replanted at a faster rate than it is harvested. The shutters are available in an unlimited range of paints or stains, and can be shipped nationwide. Take a look at http://www.horizonshutters.com.
